Forte Alto
Forte Alto
FROM OUR MOUNTAIN VINEYARDS

SMALL PLOTS OF LAND

passionately and meticulously curated every day by families of growers in the Dolomitic region.

Dolomite Terroir

Forte Alto wines are crafted from hand-picked grapes in the foothills of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site with unique soil characteristics.

Healthy grapes are selected by our growers and only picked when they reach a perfect stage of ripeness, ensuring a final product of superior quality.

Soft pressing, fermentation in stainless-steel and ageing allows the wines to retain delicate freshness, drinkability and that unique character of grapes grown in this mountain region.

PINOT GRIGIO

PINOT GRIGIO

VIGNETI DELLE DOLOMITI IGT

Pinot Grigio was first grown in the foothills of The Dolomites around 1950 to produce a Rosé wine. It was only after refined progress in enology in the 1970s that wineries were able to obtain a white wine rich in flavours, more supple and with a lower acidity. Pinot Grigio is produced with grapes from the vineyards along the banks of the rivers which flow through our valleys. Here it finds its ideal habitat, thanks to the fertile soil.

Here silt and dolomite rock create unique soils, which along with the valley’s micro-climates create excellent conditions for ripening grapes. These natural conditions create an optimal balance between acidity and freshness.
